UPDATE: I thought the one had sold, but it’s back on eBay, with a price drop down to $33.49 (Was $49.99).
(02/29/2020) Chris spotted this odd Willys Calendar. It’s got an imprint of a horse head on it, but we didn’t understand why that might be. It appears these were produced for the Ohio Willys Sales Company, of Cleveland, Ohio.

From an era of class! Quality work and stitching, Name-embossed, just like the fedoras of the day. So this just wasn’t a freebee, but perhaps recognition to a salesman for the distributorship. Makes you wonder the story of G. M. Irvin. My only theory for the horse head is that the company making them offered a limited choice of what appeared on the front and the business chose the horse. This is a lot smaller than the photos hint at. Larger versions were offered as glove box wallets after the War. I still have my dad’s and it’s one of my favorite possessions.. The imagined story is a valuable as this nice piece.
Barney,
Thanks for the insights into this. Given the name imprinted on the interior cover page, I’d wondered if this was something more special than just a marketing gimmick.

You just have to make something come to life before you so as to appreciate it fully. Better than just seeing a piece of someone sold on ebay.
