Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Lots of hard work in this one, but lacking details. I would assume to widen it, the Jeep would need to be cut in half, (visible alteration on engine hood ) to fit on a wider frame. other wise why do it? I would think a detailed description would be something I’d want to see as a buyer and seller.
Haha, yep, I have this fantasy of stretching and widening a flat fender body to fit a TJ frame and running gear!
Chuck … is this making you reconsider that idea? lol.
Google The Old Willys Forum Grand Willys project and you’ll find 109 pages of an incredible metal master rebuilding a Willys pickup so it will fit on a much newer Jeep. The cab is both widened and lengthened, the doors are longer and the newer running gear is mated to the original Willys truck frame. An amazing build by a truly talented guy in his garage. I’m in awe!
