UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This poster includes a jeep driven by soldiers looking as if they’d just driven from the Italian movie version of M*A*S*H. Given M*A*S*H was released the year before in 1970, maybe that wasn’t a coincidence?
As noted at IMDB, “A girl is drafted due to a misunderstanding and this gives her the occasion to check on her boy-friend, whom she believes to be a womanizer.”
“Original poster measures approximately 140 x 200 cm (78″x55″), in conditions as in the photo.”
This is cool, although a bit pricey, I’d hang it on my bedroom wall, keep me warm at night.
Mike … TMI! 🙂 … If I were the seller I’d start with a higher price, too. If it didn’t have all the folds, I would consider paying that price. It’s a big item and probably pretty rare.
Dave, Yes, those folds detract from it’s value, just the same, I’ll see her in my dreams.
Dave, once again Barney’s Jeep Parts LLC thanks you for putting me on to an investment! That’s an incredible poster! And, in the collector world of movie posters the folded ones are actually more valuable as they are issued with the movie reels to the theaters. Often times, they were put back in the case and sent on to the next theater. We have a Man In The Wilderness poster (Richard Harris 1971) that must have 20 pin holes on each corner. The reproductions were never folded. Now to clear a wall out for it – that’s huge!
And before you guys start … My wife bought that for my birthday 9/28.
Barney, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You lucky guy, your wife must be the best there is.
Barney, You are welcome and Happy upcoming Birthday. Clearly, I’m clueless about the folds, but happy to hear you are not! Congrats,
– Dave
