UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4800.
Seems like a good price given it runs. Will need some work (has a plexiglass windshield).
“1970s m151 a2 Mutt Vietnam era Jeep. This Jeep has been cut runs and drives great all gauges and lights work has plexiglass windshield tires are old bill of sale only no title”
What do your mean it’s been “Cut?”
Thank you
Hi Barry,
Cut vs. uncut (and partial vs long vs short vs X cut) are topics unique to the M-151.
When the military sold M-151s, at least some of the M-151s were cut in half or quartered and sold as surplus. But, some enterprising folks bought the surplus and just welded them back together so they could be used. Hence, some are true M-151s that were never cut while others were cut and reassembled.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M151_%C2%BC-ton_4×4_utility_truck: “In the late 1980s the M151s began being phased out of service in favour of the HMMWV. A few (perhaps 1,000) were sold via Government Surplus auctions, and those that were not sold via Foreign Military Sales (FMS) overseas were cut into four pieces and scrapped. However some individuals were able to buy these “quartered” M151s and simply weld the four sections back together, and rebuilt them into drivable condition. Some vehicles sold in the United States were simply cut in half, some of which were simply welded back together and driven. ”
