Gee Mr. Jeep, what strange fenders you have! Submitted for your opinion; At what point in time did ordinary men (not the mad Max type) become Military vehicle restoration experts? Now a days, paint anything olive drab (that’s olive DRAB not DRAG) call it restored, slap a high price on it, and bingo, I am not longer singing, “If I were a rich man, yubby dibby, dibby, dibby, dum, All day long I’d biddy, biddy bum, if I were a wealthy man…
What leads men to such great illusions?
The hardtop on this fits funny. From the driver’s side, it looks like it overhangs the back of the jeep, but on the passenger side it seems to fit correctly.
Seller described it as “driven 1235 miles” and as having an “automatic transmission” in the ad. Maybe a “1951 Jeep Wrangler concept vehicle” that didn’t go into production??? … or… I’m thinking it is more of a quick major rear body repair, and front fenders too. I hope no one gets hurt by those front fender corners squared and sticking out like that. Claimed as a “barn find”, so I guess it “worked” for the “field use” at one time. To each his own, the beauty of Willys Jeeps and “owner adaptations” to need.
