“This is an original press photo. Boyle, Hal (Correspondent). Tiny Shinn Chung Sook, better known as “Snooky,” looks bewildered as she sits in a jeep in the Seoul area with Associated Press correspondents Hal Boyle (foreground) and Bill Waugh (right), two of the American newsmen who adopted her. In left background is Snooky’s real uncle, Bill Shinn, Korean reporter for the Associated Press. Waugh, designated as the child’s official godfather, gave Boyle the assignment of escorting her to safety in Taegu. Waiting at latter city for Snooky, who had twice before disappeared, was her real father. Photo measures 8.75 x 6.75inches. Photo is dated 1-3-1951.”
Sorry, but I had to beat everyone to this: The inner windshield and supports are completely missing so the stole the window out of Rosie’s Barn and strapped it on for a windshield. This would make quite a barn find. And I want to see one like this in the unrestored class at the next MVPA convention!
Corrections: Line 2: “they” and”bar”.
Okay, I was so focused on the girl and the text … I totally missed that window!
This is priceless! (Just not $34.87 priceless.) I could run all day with this. We’re in Appalachia, Next 2A or MB customer showing up needing the expensive inner assy, I’ll drag one of those out along with several ft of mechanic’s wire. What’s in youuuuuur wallet?
That window would later re-surface in Better Homes and Garden magazine as a wall hanging with a scenic photograph behind it as a budget decorating idea! LOL! I did pull two of those style windows out of an old barn in Missouri years ago specifically for that purpose for our daughter to use.
