This is really cool … expensive, but cool. Thanks to Steve for sharing it with us.

“This listing is for one Vintage EL JEBEL JEEP PATROL Denver Colorado License Plate Topper Attachment. It is in very good condition with original paint.”
It seems to say “El Jebel”, not “el rebel”. Does Jebel mean “rebel” in Spanish or what ever language the “el” goes with?
From the El Jebel Shrine website: “At this first Denver Shrine meeting Mortimer J. Lawrence suggested the name, EL JEBEL, which is Arabic for “The Mountain”.” The El Jebel Jeep Patrol was probably their “parade unit” of Jeeps. They still have a motor corp that serves that purpose: https://www.eljebelshrine.org/motor-patrol/. At least that’s what my expert opinion after 5 minutes of Googling has lead me to believe…
5 minutes well spent. Thanks!
Looks like this may have belonged to a member of the El Jebel Shriners.. The symbol can be found on their hats. Out of curiosity I did a quick search, I’m not familiar with the club or anything… Just thought I would share what I found:

Thanks for the research guys!

Good point Steve. Apparently, the spell check on my computer thought it knew more than I, so it must have autocorrected without me noticing. Fixed now.
