This just struck me as having potential to be a neat ride. It appears straight and rust free.

“1948 Ford Tow Truck with a 390 V8, Truck starts and runs. Will make a great Street/Rat Rod with some work or great advertising vehicle Real eye catcher. Asking $8,000. Clean California Title.”
FYI for those unfamiliar with Ford: The 390 engine was introduced in 1961. Looking at the valve covers on the engine I would guess it dates from about 1966 or later.
Thanks for the tip, RACE. The 390 raised a flag in my mind when I read it. I would guess that truck came with a big six in the day. Hopefully no one wrecks this survivor, it is cool just as is.
Or it could have had the flathead v-8 originally.
looking closer I wander if the boom is still functional.I don’t see a pto lever sticking up where it should be.
why, oh why do I love old iron, trucks and jeeps like this…and yes I hide plans and schemes from my wife! This is too cool!
This was used in the movie Delirious from 1991 correct?.
Josh,
Great catch! I found it over at the internet movie car database: https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1045516-Ford-F-Series-1948.html
