UPDATE: Better quality scans have replaced the poorer images.
This rare 1-page Shenco sales brochure demonstrates that the Cab Enclosure Hardtop was available outside the military, which I hadn’t known. This does explain why we’ve seen this version of a top on some non-military vehicles.
Interesting, the brochure states the government cost is $660.00, but cost to the general public $175.00, are we to believe this? sounds like a bit of the blarney. One other point, mentions this top is also available for the CJ5, I have never seen one on a CJ5, I would think the basic top for the earlier models would not fit without a good deal of alteration.
Dave, very nice piece of information that you posted and great price. I’m going to call that Hickory phone number listed and see if they have any left—ha ha. Thank you for all the great literature you have been posting. Bill Garland
You are welcome Bill. Glad you are enjoy this stuff. This brochure was a big surprise to me. I had no idea anyone was selling these tops to the public.
Mike,
Regarding the CJ-5, I agree. I just thought of this …. maybe the tops behind sold were considered surplus, hence the price reduction? That would explain why they’d be marketed to the public.

Dave, the surplus explanation makes sense, I tend to agree, most logical explanation.
