“Calls only no text.
I have an older Willy’s jeep I believe it a 1946 cj2a .
It is pretty much all there.
The motor came out of the mb 3a I think.
I took it in trade and don’t have a title for it . It was on a ranch and was the grandfather’s jeep but they had no idea where the title was.
It did run but hasn’t been started in some time.
If your interested in it as is the asking price is 1800. Obo”
There’s been a few leftys recently.
I noticed it’s a lefty too.
Indeed it is. I missed that.
I see lots of posts mentions “lefty”. Ok, the spare is on the left. But what is the significance / purpose?
Brad that’s a good question. It had to do with changes in state laws.
For a short period of time, March, 3rd through April,14th of 1948, the Willys Overland factory switched the normal location of the spare tire mount on the passenger’s side to amount on the driver’s side, which in turn necessitated the bow pockets be moved to the passenger-side. Thus they are called a “Lefty”.
The serial number range was from #176,061 through #185,769 … though there were some exceptions.
Lots of Lefty questions and research here — http://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/calling-all-leftys_topic16021_page1.html
