is the air filter on this engine off of a Ford of some type?just curious as I have one or two of these type air filters that were on jeeps when I got them.

Yes that is the one.I know that you just covered these type air filters recently,I just had not looked at mine close enough until now.mine is missing the adapter and has been trimmed off at the bottom to give it a lower profile.It still has the wire mesh filter in it.

My second air filter is different,it has a non removable wire mesh filter and a clamp to secure it to the carburetor.I will try and send some pics later.
