UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5900.
Appears worth a look.
“Willys Jeep CJ3B by Mitsubishi. Rare jeep as very few Willys by Mitsubishi were brought to the USA. The irony of this should not be lost on anyone. We bombed them and they licensed this legendary Jeep afterwards. 4 cylinder factory engine rebuilt by Napa Auto in Orland. Has less than 20 miles on it. New clutch, water pump, exhaust, etc. Many new parts. Runs and drives very good. In very good condition.”
Dang, missed it. I would have been all over that one.
I’ve never saw or heard about LHD Mitsubishi licensed Jeeps. Mine is RHD. I wonder is some RHD were made for export, or converted, yet I thought that production was only for the Japanese domestic market
Gary,
According to the 3B page (https://cj3b.info/Military/MitsubishiJ4.html),
“The J4s were left-hand-drive, as Mitsubishi did not start building RHD Jeeps until 1961. However, when the ambulance version had the spare tire moved from the rear, it was located on the left side of the Jeep, probably because traffic in Japan used the left side of the road.”
Sold for 5 grand.
