“I have owned this jeep since 1967! Yes, that is correct 52 years! Did a rebuild with the original flat head 4, then modified in 1972 to a 307 Chevy V-8, 4 speed T90 manual trans, Hurst shifter, overdrive, CJ5 front and rear end. Still has drum brakes which work well. I would love to keep it (why not?!) but we are moving later this year and it’s time for her to find a new loving home. Runs great, current motor has approximately 15,000 miles on it.”
Nice Jeep. I really like it. Bummer about the hole in the hood for the air cleaner.
@ Dan; that what I was thinking!
Nothing a round piece of metal, a tig welder and some paint wouldn’t fix. The black grill and windshield frame need to be painted red anyway.
It is a nice Jeep, just wonder why the use of “gate hinges” on the hood.
I think those might be CJ5 hinges?
Mike, I wondered that as well. I thought maybe the hood was fiberglass, but the underside appears to built like the metal ones. Maybe the old hinge gave out, so they cut it and mounted it with the hinges?
