Now this is some serious vintage 1960s here. Check out the weather sides. My neighbor had the convertible version of this model. It was fun to drive around the neighborhood.

“Based on 1967 VW pan. Killer 70s custom barn find in storage since 2003 Virginia state inspection date. Engine fires, good title. Great winter project / spring show stopper. Located near Roanoke VA will ship”
Wow: that is FUN :-).
Takes me back to the models I made as a kid, and my lifelong love of dune buggies going back to the late 60’s.
They also seemed fun to me.
Dave……very serious 60’s !! Interesting how cool old stuff seems to flock together. My brother and I made a trip to an estate auction in Missouri this summer. I was the lucky ?? high bidder on an Empire tractor carcass. Toward the end of the auction, there was a complete 60’s lime green fiberglass dune buggy body. Auctioneer forgot to sell it with lots of other VW stuff in the woods……bought it for $45 late in the day. Laid it on it’s side next to the Empire and headed for Iowa. It has since gone on to a new home in Ohio where it is getting a newer VW pan and a complete restoration.
Nice save on both the Empire and the dune buggy Allan!
