Sure looks worth it: even if it doesn’t prove to be a rebuildable engine, you’ve still got: carb ($130), manifolds ($70+), starter motor ($120+), bell housing ($50+), oil fil tube ($30+), air cleaner bell (30+), oil filter and bracket (70?), head ($$?), water pump ($40 if rebuildable)… but of course the hope is that it’s a working engine (worth asking price all day long) OR needs a basic rebuild (block and head worth $300-$350 as it sits, and the above listed attachments making it VERY worth it).
Nope, Joe, I couldn’t break away from the rescue dogs yesterday. Just like my old pipeline welding instructor pounded into my head, “he who hesitates is lost”. I lost.
