(06/30/2019) Tom shared this oddity. This seems to be a late model DJ-3A body and windshield (design for a Koenig top) mounted on a (probably) CJ-2A chassis with a Meyer Half-top. That’s a combo I don’t think I’ve seen before.

So what’s with putting your finger over the license plate ?
The thumb/finger over the license plate is becoming more common. There’s some concern that having your license plate show on a photo could result in some kind of invasion of privacy. Is it a valid concern? I don’t know. Here’s a Jalopnik article on the topic (probably a good one for a post all its own):
