UPDATE: Nathan purchased this rig (listed for sale in July of 2018. You can follow his rebuild of it here: https://www.instagram.com/xm195_rebuild/
From the ad: “Rare dodge XM195 military prototype vehicle built in 1950. 3 of these were made for the military to test. This is the only known survivor. This vehicle is a smaller version of the dodge M37. This vehicle was intended to be a possible replacement for the Jeep. The bed of the truck is missing. It does have many original parts. It does have original dated tires and has original bead clips still in the rims. This truck does not run. It does need extensive restoration.”
Wow, that’s so cool. The only survivor.
Doesn’t look dat fast 2me, but it looks like it was dug outta the Bonneville Salt Flats
Looks like I saw this a little too late. Craigslist ad is down now. If the truck is still for sale I would like to contact the seller. I have have also posted in my thread about the XM195 on SteelSoldiers that I want to get in touch with the seller. hkh1mail “at” yahoo “dot” com
Thanks for any leads.
Hi Karl,
Given the ad expired on Craigslist, the vehicle could still be available. So, I’ve updated the post and will keep a look out for it. If I see it again, I will send you an email.
Thanks,
– Dave
Hi Dave,
The XM195 was sold and has a new owner. Not me unfortunately, but it sounds like the new owner has plans for a restoration. Such a neat little truck. I’m glad it was saved.
Cheers,
Karl
Maybe it will show up at the Camp Plymouth military vehicle swap meet and show April 16-21, 2019 in Plymouth.
Hello my name is Nathan Privat and I bought the truck I’m posting pictures of the progress of the restoration on Instagram the profile name is “xm195_rebuild” if you would like to follow and keep up dated. Also sorry but I will not be bringing it to Plymouth it’s in pieces right now. I hope to have a rolling frame by next year though.
Thanks Nathan. I’ve found the link: https://www.instagram.com/xm195_rebuild/
That looks like it will be a neat rig once completed. Good luck with it!
