UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
Looks like a simple Dana 18, but I’m guessing it’s been modified based on the seller’s comment that the transfercase is worth more than the asking price.
“Hi guys looking to sell a Aluminum body sand dragster Jeep. It’s just a rolling chassis. There is no motor but does come with a direct drive transfer bolts right up to a BBC or SBC. Comes with a few parts. It’s definitely a project but be sweet for the drags or dunes. I’m asking $1800 O.B.O the transfer is worth more than that. And no trades please cash only”
That is definitely an interesting transfer case set up. Looks like an old school drag set up. I’ve heard back in the old drag racing days they would use an automatic transmission and put a clutch set up on the front so they could get better launches. I would tend to think that is that kind of set up but direct drive single gear only.
Really cool idea.
I sure would like to tear it apart to see what they’ve done.
With that set up you could have a high revving motor and stay with a short wheel base and still have a decent length rear drive line.
Its been awhile but do you still have this?
Hi Ernie,
I checked the Facebook link and the ad is marked sold. I’ve updated the post.
