UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
(06/18/2019) Doesn’t run at the moment.
“Attention Collectors & Mechanics. I’m selling a 1947 Willy’s Jeep in good shape for its age doesn’t run not sure what’s wrong and don’t know much about it. It was a family members who has since passed away.”
This 2A is a good example of a question that’s been on my mind for some time. Look at picture #2, notice the straight angle of the floor mounted stick shift. Now some 2A’s like my 48 have a curved shaft as opposed to the straight even within the same model year. Is there an explanation for this? One of those nagging questions of life I’d like answered before I go to that big junkyard in the sky.
Mike,
That’s a great question. I too have seen straight vs. curved levers. Maybe the curved were all done as custom one-offs, but there seems to be a consistency among some that suggest otherwise.
I could not find any results doing some google searches. Hopefully, a learned mind exists out there (or at least a wild-haired opinion).

Maybe Herm the overdrive guy might know. I just checked my spare parts inventory or junk as my wife refers to it and I have both. Both trans are months apart date wise.
Peter, That’s a good idea.
