“This Jeep was most likely crated after it was made and not sent to Europe or the Pacific Campaign. Most Jeeps that went overseas never came home. Jeeps are popular in Japan, China, and Europe – even today.
What I know about this Jeep MB.
Bought from Camp Roberts, CA in the 1940s – between 1948 and 1950 – Army Surplus.
That owner had it until 1954 when he sold it to my friend Bill.
There were no 4WD vehicles then, so Bill used it for hunting and fishing all over the west coast. Bill towed it to his hunting location and there he went – kids / grandkids/friends. It has been his best friend for all of this time – along with multiple hunting dogs.
Bill told me that the engine was overhauled by a buddy in the early 1960s. The transmission was reworked some time later. All other gearboxes are still working fine.
Bill sold the Jeep to me – only because he needs to get rid of his toys – now planning to move to a retirement center.

Less that 13,000 miles on the odometer.
I drove the Jeep in the Flashback Cruise Bend, OR) two weeks ago. The crowd applauded that it was there.
The next day, I gave another friend Floyd (90 years old), a ride around downtown. Floyd served in 1st Marine – Korea. Floyd said that the last time he was in a Willys Jeep it turned on to it’s side on a 50 below day. The Marines pushed this 1/4 ton Jeep up onto the wheels and off they went.
I then took my wife out for a cruise with the windshield down. We loved it.”
Another Deal is in the works! thanks a lot Dave
