UPDATE: **SOLD** Bill, the newest owner, believes this was a 1948 CJ-2A.
I think I’ve seen this hardtop, but can’t place it.

Dave, the add says it all : custom made topper. Other than the swing out windows, I think the sides and back of a Meyer or Koenig top could be used to create a similar top. Thie rear hinging door would require a lot of thought. Maybe a solid angle or tube to tie the sides and windshield together and give a place to install the snaps?

I bought this in Maine, for considerably less than the amount listed here. It’s shiny on top, but was neglected underneath. The top is very nice with most of a good roll cage underneath, but it’s kind of heavy. Someone spent a lot of time building it. The jeep did not have the spare tire carrier when I got it, and had 4 brand new 6 x 16 NDTs on repro rims. I removed the lift, redid the driveshafts and I’m working on the axles now. Should be ready to play in the traffic by spring! No sign of factory ID plates on the firewall or frame, but based on the body, windshield frame and remnants of old paint underneath the tub my guess is that it’s mostly a 1948 CJ2a that was Luzon red from the factory.

In the course of replacing the brakes I noticed a couple of uniform bumps amid the layers of paint behind the left front cross member that seems like they might have been drive pin heads. After some vehicular archaeology finished with a little fine sandpaper and some acetone I was able to make out the original frame tag. What I actually have is CJ2a 88091, a 1947.
