UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600.
(05/08/2019) Not sure how much value is here.
“Old plow jeep. I had it running and idling a couple months ago . Rebuilt carb. Hurricane engine runs very well. 12 volt alternator. Plow setup. Body is rough. Frame looks to be in decent shape. Restore, parts, yard vehicle.
Obviously this jeep has sat for sometime. Bring a trailer.”
A case of beer and haul it outa there.
Hello friends,
I am very new to Jeeps and I am looking for a project for my son, age 8, and I to tackle. This Jeep is in the town next to ours and definitely in our price range to get started. I wondered if anyone with a little more experience could offer some guidance on a restoration of this magnitude. If so, have you ever resurrected something that could be so far gone?
Any thoughts would be very helpful.
Hi Matthew,
Naturally, the answer is complicated. I’ve seen jeeps that looked worse restored, but it takes lots of time and money. In this case, you are essentially buying a chassis with an engine that may have ran recently. Most likely, you’ll need to disassemble this to the ground. You’ll probably find that the body is so far gone that it makes no sense to save it. You’ll be buying a lot of new/used parts to put this back together again. Even without the tub, you are looking at several thousand dollars in parts.
The rebuild process would likely take 1-3 years depending on your dedication and skill level.
The upside is that there’s little downside. If you buy it for $600 you should be able to sell or part this out without losing much money.
If you have other questions, feel free to email me at d@ewillys.com and I’ll answer them best I can.

Hi Matthew,
IMHO – Try to find the best possible project for your budget… Sometimes that requires alot of patience. Ask yourself: What is my end goal? (Restored grocery getter, Rock crawler, Parade vehicle, something to putt around the yard, 4×4 beater, Plow vechicle, etc.)… Think about safety, reliability and function. Run some quick $$numbers$$ using a web sites like: https://walcks4wd.com/, https://www.vintagejeeps.com/, https://www.kaiserwillys.com./ then double it!!!
Typically, you will not save much money in the long run starting with something this rough. (Pay now or pay later)
Good Luck!
Do you still have it? Contact me?
Looks like this one sold. I’ve update the post.
