The early CJ-2A grille has large holes for the parking lights. The later grille has very small holes. This document shows the two different grilles:

Rick, for all I’ve learned over the last decade, there’s still things I don’t know. I have wondered if there isn’t room for an in depth history of the jeep, one that includes the rise of third party equipment providers, the shift in advertising over the years, and more. I suspect that by the time I finished it, the book would be so dense that few would read it. There’s so much ground to cover!
