TJ shared this truck with a 1982 2.3 liter Peugot engine in it and featured on Barn Finds a couple days ago. It lacks four wheel drive due to non-matching RP ratios in the front and back.

“Let’s start with some bad.
No front drive line for four wheel drive because it has non matching gearing between front and rear axle.
Passenger floorboard has holes, big enough for a big toe to fit in.
Heater core has pinhole leak so it steams up the cab, currently bypassed.
Some good.
2.3l turbo diesel from 1982 peugeot 505s.
Bosch mechanical fuel injection.
Garret turbo.
Achieves 25 mpg city.
Capable of freeway speeds, but it takes a while(1st gear 10-20,2nd gear 20-30, 3rd 30-60, redline 85mph calculated)
20 gal aluminum fuel tank, 500 mile range.
Custom adapter for jeep t15 3 speed transmission.
Dana 44 rear axle 3.90 limited slip from full size jeep truck, with rebuilt brakes.
New brake lines front to back.
All new wiring and fuse box.
Wipers converted to 2 speed electric.
33 inch mud and snow tires.
Custom rear driveline.
Currently my daily driver this past year, conversion from to 2wd drive, Ford v8, 3 speed automatic to turbo diesel 3 speed manual, took a year and a half slowly over weekends.
I’ve owned this pickup for a little over four years and I’m only selling to fund all my other projects, as such I’m not looking for any trades, and since it is my daily driver and it is cold outside I’m not in a hurry to sell.
If the ad is up I still have it. I am available weekday evenings, and weekends for showing. I can meet at Fred Meyers on 82nd and Johnson Creek Blvd in front of the Garden center.”
Puts a lot of time and money into this project, and doesn’t even match the front and rear gear ratios,
so no 4 wheel drive I don’t get it. seems some what a_ _ backwards.
