Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
There are plenty of interesting, unusual, historic and surprising stories related to Jeeps and their owners. In addition, some of these features have nothing to do with jeeps. This link will display all featured stories starting from the latest.
Looking for parts and not sure where to go? There are a variety of large and small new and used parts sellers both online and offline.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Looks nice.

The “L” head motor is not original to that model.
Both the L Head and F Head were available in 1950.
The L head was for the VJ3, which is the flat front, flat fender.
The 473VJ was introduced in I believe April, 1950, and featured
the F head engine and the revised hood, fenders, and grille.
Yes both engines were offered in 1950, but they also offered
2 different models..
There was a factory kit to retrofit the F head motor in the older
models. The L head ended up in this one because they probably
couldn’t find a good F head motor.
Nothing wrong with it, but the F head featured a few more horses.
I would think more about it if it were retrofit with the F head 6,
which was introduced in 1952. They were rated at 90 horsepower.
Is it possible the 1950 Jeepsters with the L-head were retitled 1949 Jeepsters? That would make both of you correct.
A 1950 Brochure (one I’m still chasing) suggests that one the F-head and the L-161 were available for the 1950 Jeepster. https://www.autopaper.com/images/2619/photo/img2561_32841.jpg
I went and looked at this. It’s 6 volts, the generator was replaced with an alternator. It could use some paint in places, the license plate lens is missing, the turn signal switch needs repair. New top. Seems like a good buy.
