UPDATE: Tis the season … Craig shared this ad. Was on eBay until it sold. This was published in the December 19, 1942, issue of the Saturday Evening Post, pg 33.
You rarely see Santa delivering packs of Old Gold cigarettes to all the good boys and girls anymore.
Years ago when I was in an advertising class the instructor said there were 3 sure-fire things ad agencies used to put in their ads to insure success: kids, animals, and Abraham Lincoln. I guess we can add Santa Claus and jeeps to that list.
For $12.92, i had to buy it to add to our xmas decorations LOL.
Steve: lol … Good point!
Mike: Congrats! I admit be tempted myself.
A few years ago I included this classic ad in my variation on “The Night Before Christmas” called “A Visit from St. Nicholas, in his Jeep,” at http://cj3b.info/Finds/FindsSanta.html
Merry Christmas!
That is a very cool rendition of the night before Xmas thanks for sharing.
