Could be a good price.
“One family owned Willy’s for sale. Looking for a new family to love. New points, wires, plugs, oil can, master cylinder, running good, lots of new parts. Not a daily driver but a great jeep to toy around in, has some popping in 2nd and 3rd gear due to needing some timing adjustments. Classic Willy and all the intricacies that come with that.”
Video of it running can be seen here:
Looks like a replacement body
Bob in nc…what makes you think it’s a replacement body?
If the parking brake indent on the dash hasn’t been drilled, that would be once clue that it might be a replacement body (I can’t tell if there’s a hole that’s filled or if it is an undrilled hole).
The thing that makes me think it isn’t a replacement body is that it has the heater vent hole on the passenger side (you can see a plate over it on the interior shot of the body). I haven’t seen any 3B replacement bodies for late model Cj-3Bs that include such a hole.
My understanding is that the parking brake would be where someone installed a hydraulic line lock. In the middle of the dash for an early 60s model and not at the indent.
You are absolutely right. The T-handle. And I agree with your analysis. In my defense, I haven’t had my coffee yet 🙂
No worries! I was mostly concerned as I acquired this CJ and am trying to get it back close to original as I can. On that note, if you know anywhere I can get the T-Handle parking brake setup I’d love to get it!
