“Up for a NO-RESERVE auction is my 1948 Willys CJ2A Jeep. This CJ2A is in great condition. I recently picked this one up and the previous owner had it stored for the last 3 years or so in a heated shop. It retains all of the stock running gear with a few aftermarket additions. It has a mild lift with new shackles, helper leafs and shocks. A new set of wheels with almond shell, studded recap tires have been mounted.
The original L-134 flat head 4 cylinder engine runs great. It does take some extra pumping on the accelerator along with the manual choke to get it to fire when cold, but once warmed up, it fires instantly. It has been converted to a 12 volt system. The mechanical fuel pump was replaced with an electric fuel pump. The 4 wheel drive system engages and functions as it should. The T-90 transmission and clutch operate properly also. The brakes are weak and should be given some attention.
The body is very straight but there is a few areas of rust common on these old Jeeps. Many of the original wood-filled reinforcing supports underneath have rusted out and the passenger side floor board has a few small holes, including a larger area in the storage compartment under the passenger seat. A full roll bar has been added and the front seats are not original. The inside of the tub has been rhino lined. A new set of functioning wipers has been added and the headlights, tail light and dash light all function. There is no blinkers on this rig. They didn’t come with any and none have been added. All the gauges work except for the volt gauge. Even the horn works! The soft top is in great shape with only a few snaps that are missing and one small crack in the passenger side door window. The drivers side windshield has several cracks shown in the pictures.
Over all, this is a very clean old Willys. It runs excellent and drives like a 70 year old jeep! If you’re familiar with these old Jeeps than you know what I mean! Not a highway cruiser, but jump in and it will put a smile on your face. With a little attention this classic will be an awesome rig! I have a clear Washington state title ready for the winning bidder. “
