“Ford 289 CID V8, four speed manual transmission, 4WD, power steering, front disc brakes. Runs and drives, four wheel drive works. Solid frame. The following has been done since I purchased it in 2014:
– New “Willys” stamped tailgate installed with OE hinges
– Complete rebuild of front axle with all new bearings, seals, and rebuilt locking hubs
– Complete rebuild of rear axle with new locking center section, bearings and seals
– New front brakes with new rotors, calipers, wheel bearings and disc pads
– New rear brake shoes, lines and wheel cylinders.
– New oil pan and pickup tube/screen, gaskets and seals.
– New dual brake master cylinder
– Distributor replaced
– New points, plugs, MSD plug wires, cap, and rotor
– Bed-liner coating inside body tub
– OE fender supports installed under front fenders
– New alternator
This Jeep is a blast to drive but it has quite a bit of power for its weight and short wheelbase and therefore can be a handful at speeds above 30 to 35 mph. It was built to be an off-road vehicle, not to mix with traffic. It needs new seals in the transfer case, the shifter adjusted or replaced (sometimes shifter gets stuck until levers are rattled), and the tires must be replaced as they are aged well beyond the safe usage life. As-is, no warranty. The Bimini top is from my Wrangler and is not included. Due to the condition of the tires, I will not sell you this Jeep unless you bring a trailer to tow it home or live within a mile or so. $6500, no trades.”
