Here is a video of the jeep running and driving 7/29/2018:
“For sale is my 1946 Willys Jeep CJ2A. Runs great, stops as well as a 1946 jeep ever could. New front brake shoes/wheel cylinders, master cylinder and hardware last year. New front and rear pinion seal this year. Reproduction windshield frame, glass does have two small cracks, please see the pictures. This is a 12 V conversion. Headlights and tail light work, but brake light does not – I suspect it is the switch. No turn signals. Horn doesn’t work, but there is a functional siren. New Coker Firestone tires last year and the wheels were professionally sandblasted and powder coated at that time.
This is not the original go-devil four-cylinder engine, but a period correct replacement. Converted to electronic ignition last year. Four-wheel-drive including lower range work perfectly. It has the expected oil drips of a 70-year-old vehicle. Grinds a little bit in 1st/reverse since the clutch cable is slightly out of adjustment- please see the linked video.
There is fairly poor patching of the floors done by the previous owner, but it serves its purpose. There are also some areas of the frame that might need attention within the next couple years. Please see the photos. The toolbox on this one is completely rusted away. It photographs well, but this jeep has been used and is 72 years old, so it does have scratches/dents/cracks – definitely do not expect anything near perfection.
Price is firm. No test drives unless you have cash. Selling because it’s time to find a new project.”
