Ted spotted this story. Daniel Strohl at Hemmings shared this vintage 1950s photo that features a wagon, among many other vehicles. My two Seattle experts (my aunt and her boyfriend who have 150 years of combined Seattle living experience) think it is either University Village or Holman Road Center. My aunt also informed me that she and I are related to “Ray”, the man who started Ray’s Thriftway, a grocery chain in the Northwest (grandma’s aunt’s sisters’ mother … or something like that). I wonder if I can get a family discount?

Love this picture. Looks to be the 1950.5 or newer 2wd wagon, maybe the “station sedan” trim?
Yes , that looks like an April 1950 or later Willys Station Wagon — The Station Sedans were sold 1948 , 1949 and 1950 — leftover 1949’s were sold in 1950 — They had that basketweave paint trim on the upper sides of the body — This picture looks like a 4-73 or a 6-73 model — I have a 1950 6-73 — And I unfortunately cut up and scrapped a 1949 Station Sedan — It was in pretty bad shape , dash board cut out , missing some of the rare Station Sedan bling — I saved the drivetrain and everything but the actual main body — This was years ago , haven’t seen another one since — I cant tell if this Rays Drug Store is the same as the current Rays Food Places grocery stores ? — I frequent the Rays Food Place in Mount Shasta City , Calif. when I ascend the Great White Pyramid — 50 + years of ascents , no Lemurian sightings yet …
