Given the serial number, it seems more likely to me this is an early ’46 based on this chart.

Definitely an early block. This one has the short flat piece above the water pump like the WWII blocks, instead of the typical CJ long piece. I wonder if this is a left over war block that was stamped for a CJ.
The craigslist posting has expired. Any way I can get a hold of this person?
