UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
“Beautifully restored 1948 Willy’s jeep, very low mileage, garage kept except for the past few weeks. It has a 50 ft heavy duty winch tat works, body in prefect condition. Original engine. For more information plz message. It’s been I the family for over 50 years and has been well taken care of. It will start but needs carbonator rebuilt, tires, and a battery. It’s a true classic. May be willing to trade for a newer truck, depending.”
Interesting winch setup, I wonder about the shaft with the pillow block bearings on the bumper. I think it is either some sort of cable fairlead or maybe allows winch cable to be doubled up like a snatch block would operate. I’m sure that shag carpeting provides protection and holds no moisture.
I looked again, that shaft is mounted to the tow bar, I have no idea what it does.
48 with a MB glove box?? -older re-pro tub maybe?
Mark: It looks like this is a crankshaft controlled winch like this https://cj3b.info/Tech/KoenigCrankshaftWinch.html , but I don’t see the crankshaft controller. I’m sure the carpet doesn’t trap a single bit of moisture!!
Matt: Yep, I forgot to comment on that glove box. I’m sure this is a repro body. Note that the emergency brake hole does not have the proper shape .. in other words, the builder had to drill a hole for the brake. There is also no hole for a governor on the dash to the upper left of the steering column cutout.
