Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1963 FC 170 Willys Jeep Pickup Title still in original owners name. Original paint, seats, Glass, best example of FC 170 I have every seen. FC was under coated when bought new. Winch was installed by dealer when new. Snow plow was installed at dealer when new. All parts are on the truck. Have open title, all paper work and original owners manual and warranty contract.”
I wish the pic of the VIN plate was a wider one. The missing screw, w/o even a hole in the body, shows some repair work has been done.
Long-time FC collector Larry Munther was selling this truck for many years for around $18,000. I actually thought he still had it.
If the title has not been transferred to the seller and not in the sellers name, he does not own it.
And this is a not uncommon occurrence. It doesn’t always mean foul play, but buyer beware for sure.
