UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,000.
As militarized CJ-2As go, this looks pretty good.
“1941 Willys Jeep MB clone. Titled as a 48 with a early 46 frame and running gear. All new sheet metal, tires, brakes, top, MB parts and more. Rebuilt transmission and transfer case. Manual. New Saturn over drive ($1100.00). 12 volt electrical system with period correct wiring harness. Show quality/1st place show winner at local car show recently $10,000 NO TRADES”
Is that an early ‘low’ windshield from an MA or earliest slatgrille MB’s? Looks like it to me!
I agree.. The first thing that I spotted. That thing is worth a few bucks all by itself. I’m not a huge fan of tribute vehicles, but this is well done.
I too thought that windshield looked a little short, but didn’t know why. So the MA windshields fit the MBs? That’s something I didn’t know.
I know the early Slat-Grills had them for sure.. Whether or not they’re the same as the MA’s, I’ll have to escalate that question to those who know more about them. The cowl looks very similar to me, but again I’m not sure.
I must say this is a pretty cool jeep! and the price is not bad at all. I see it’s been for sale since October of 2017. Makes me wonder? I might have a hard time getting it titled here in Calif. Seems like you guys are much more in tuned to jeeps than I am that’s for sure. Tribute vehicle. Hard to make a decision with just a few pictures. I would need to ship this to San Diego. Only problem I have is I have a hip replacement March 15th and don’t want to get the ball rolling at this time. But it sure is tempting!!! What do you experts think? Any concerns that you guys might have I would love to hear them.
Ray,
My feeling is that for the price and given it will probably cost $2k to ship it to California, you are better off finding a real MB/GPW in Cali. You ought to be able to get a good WWII jeep for $12k in Cali. Jay lives in Cali and may be able to help: http://www.jaysww2jeeps.com/ I believe the WWII jeep will hold its value better than the militarized CJ-2A, no matter how nice the vehicle might be.

Wrong carb and horn as well.
I asked them a bunch of technical question’s like is the trans a T90 and other stuff no seat cushion’s I wanted to talk to the owner not their kid. All I get is bit’s a pieces as a reply.
Ray,
Well that’s frustrating!

Absolutely
Hi David, Just to let you know I made contact with the owner today. We had a nice talk for about a hour. We were in good negations about the jeep and came to a agreement. It’s sold. It will be heading to Calif!
I want to thank you and the others for your information and their help. This is a frame off build per the owner, sand blasted prime red and repainted. Wife is a seem stress and is making the cushions per spec Pretty much custom. I know I have some work to do to get it where it needs to be but that’s in the fun! There is a list of parts that will go with the vehicle as well, and a list of items Again Thank you.
Ray,
Great news! I hope you have a great time with it! I’ve updated the post.

OH I forgot one other thing…included is the frame off reconstruction of the vehicle from sand blasting to red primer paint to tranny , engine work and more! Can’t wait. Now I have to figure a way to tell the wife? NO worries there.
Just so you guys know this thing is beautiful! I have taken it to many car shows and have won The Peoples choice award and a few others. This was a big hit in the 4th of July parade in Oceanside Calif where I had a WW@ Vet ride with me who landed on Sipan, along with the last show I did was the Mira Mar Air Show for 3 day! I truly have to tell ya this jeep draws the crowds. I can’t thank you enough for posting this on the site.
Ray,
I’m very happy to hear you’ve enjoying owning the jeep. That is the ultimate reason for buying one!
