Mike and Carl both forwarded this oddity: a custom DJ-5 with a wagon front end and CJ-2A 4WD modification.
“Truck is Titled as a 1976 AM General
Cut Down Willys Based on CJ2A Jeep 4×4
Frame 1946 CJ2A axles, transmission, and transfer case
Engine Later L head 134
Body front 1955 Willys
Body rear 1976 AM General mail Jeep with roof removed-body reinforced with 2×4 boxed steel in rockers, all rusty metal replaced
Dash-1976 AM General
Wiring-1976 AM General- Everything works except the windshield wipers
New electric fuel pump, new radiator, new windshields
Rebuilt carb, master cylinder
Tires-General Liberator–very good tread
Truck runs, shifts, and brakes well- 4×4 works as it should
New Olive Drab paint”
Other than using up leftover parts, the big question is “Why?”
The front half don’t look bad but the chrome on the side of the hood could be dulled down. The end half…is the end half. The seller might make money on it.
I’D LIKE TO BUY THIS — JUST SO I COULD CUT IT UP WITH A — PORTUGUESE-HOT-WRENCH
MAVERICK STATION WAGON TRIM FROM 1960-61 ON THE HOOD, THE GRILLE IS 1960-61, ENGINE IS AN F-HEAD 4, NOT AN L-134 AS DESCRIBED.
