Engine is supposed to run. Seller knows little about it.
“I have a 52 jeep willys m38a1 with original motor and drive train motor does run I have a video of it running it does need body work you know because it is 65 years old it does need some axle work the front driver hub is pulled apart for previous owner don’t know much about it I work for a towing company and got it from a impound if you have any questions text is best”
I noticed that this M38a1 looks like it has a M38 arctic hard top with the windshield straight up and down. That is the only one I have ever seen except for one that I have. Mine has a flat head 4. Where can I get info for this jeep?
Thanks, Dave
Hi Dave,
That’s a good point. Does it use a special windshield to sit more straight up?

Dave,
Sorry for late response. Missed the email. To your question, yes. The windshield looks like it is a M38 hardtop windshield, cut into body at the lowest part (because of the wider body). The door hinges bolt onto the lowest part of the windshield. Mine also has a 134 flat head engine with the two lift points. I’m not sure what army had this. I bought this 3 hrs. north of Toronto, Ontario. Do you know where I can get info on this one?
Thanks, Dave
Hi Dave,
Well that sounds different! I did notice the flat head, too. I’ve never seen another M-38A1 with that windshield setup, so I’m not sure if there is anyone paperwork on that? It sounds more like a custom item to me. Sorry I can’t be more help with it.
