Runs good”
The Studebaker engine is very cool!
And so is the steering wheel and column. Cool…..
Check out the pedals in the third image. It might be equipped with a Borg-Warner DG150/200/250 series automatic transmission.

Wicked cool…
Joe B., Great information on the history of the first automatics and what might be in this Jeepster. I always like the Studebaker and Packard car styling. Very classy and stylish.
Given the vintage of the Studebaker V8 and the Borg Warner automatic, this Jeepster would have been a real hot rod in the early to mid 50s. I believe Ford used this same automatic in 1951 for a couple of years until they developed their own. Cool setup! Lots of interchangeable parts between Willy’s and Studebaker back then. My guess is this was the 232 cubic inch engine which had about 120hp then. The pedal setup allowed for a wider brake pedal using the stock bracket parts as the stick shift models.
