UPDATE: **SOLD** Was No Price.
The seller believes this has a 1946 body, but looks more like a replica body. This may actually be a SCAMP rather than a VEEP.
“Fun to drive, draws attention and looks from admirers, great for street or desert.
This is a conversion of a 1946 Willy’s cj3a (army style) jeep into what was called back in the ’70’s a “Veep”, which meant a steel Jeep body with VW bug running gear (motor and trans). The Jeep body came out of a shipping crate never been assembled when i opened it and bolted it together in 2004. The engine is a dual port stock 1600cc air-cooled motor with a single solex 30 carburetor built in 2004. It has a type 1 transmission with standard 4-spd manual shifting. This Jeep includes the following features:
Four wheel disc brakes
External oil cooler w/ thermostatically controlled cooling fan
Fox shocks including external reservoirs in the rear
Stock beam front end
Centerline aluminum rims (new tires)
White front bucket seats
A rear bench that seats 3 on black diamond stitching
VDO vintage gold rimed gauges
The clear plastic windows in the doors was replaced in 2016
Many customizations..
It has 13,079 miles on it and runs great. I used it for a daily commuter for a year, then played with it as a pleasure vehicle for the family, now it just sits in the garage and only gets run on the weekends. I just drove it from Arizona to Danville for a business trip for a few weeks and am looking to sell it while I’m here in northern california before driving it home.
I am taking offers and will consider all offers that are presented via voicemail or direct phone call. I will not respond to nor consider offers via email or text. I am under no illusion that I will get my fifteen thousand dollars that i have invested in the Jeep and will not be offended by your offer. You offer what you think it is worth to you and I’ll accept or decline with no hard feels or offense taken. Make sure you watch the youtube video before contacting me since it answers many questions about the Jeep.’
