Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
There are plenty of interesting, unusual, historic and surprising stories related to Jeeps and their owners. In addition, some of these features have nothing to do with jeeps. This link will display all featured stories starting from the latest.
Looking for parts and not sure where to go? There are a variety of large and small new and used parts sellers both online and offline.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

Dave, don’t you think that between the rebuilt V6 with Bell housing, the OD, the Hijack, the very good seats, good looking body, 5 nice good all terrain tires, descent roll cage and nice winch/bumper would cost one more than the asking price by a large margin? This has me thinking I can fit behind that wheel or modify the wheel well/add some helper springs to keep the tires away from the mod so I could fit behind it!? As you can read I’m trying real hard to have this shipped here.
Barry, I notched the wheel wells on my little Willys and moved the front (and only) seats aft 7 inches. With a tilt column I can easily enter and exit the Jeep (even with the hardtop installed) and the driving position is really quite comfortable. Ask Dave, he sat in the Willys when we were visiting in my garage. You need another Jeep anyway don’t you?
I thought that might work and you done gone ahead and confirmed it dang it. No right now I’m looking at three different Willy’s on here. I was wondering what Dave thinks about it. Does what I said above make sense? Any input is most welcome and greatly appreciated!
Barry, if you’re curious about adjusting a vintage Willys Jeep so it will accommodate the current (larger) size of drivers I can tell you how I modified my M38 to get additional leg and headroom while keeping the outside appearance mostly stock. Dave has my email if you’re interested.
Barry,
I do think there is good value here. A tilt column + changing the placing of the seat can make a HUGE difference in comfort.
With how I have Biscuit’s seat and steering wheel placed, I could drive it all day. With the way Patterson’s stock seats and steering wheel are, I really wouldn’t want to; yet, both are the same physical space in terms of the driver area.
I didn’t notch Biscuit’s seating area. Instead, I have a thin, but comfortable seat, plus I raise in about four inches or so. And, I positioned the seats so the angle was better for my long legs.
I can confirm that there’s lots of room in Paul’s seats! But, he wouldn’t let me drive it (something about it wasn’t finished yet). 🙂
I am 6 foot 8 inches tall. I can fit in a flat fender ok with some mods. 3a tub [inner rear fender same as m38 and 2 inches more room than 2a ] Notched and moved wheel well back 3 inches. lifted jeep 2 inches to prevent inner tire rub, [7.50 16 tire on truck rims and Buick v6.] stock seat frames extended back as far as possible. lower rear tube on seat back replaced with flat bar [gets 1/2 inch more room . ] thin seat back . tilt column ,swing pedals. thicker bottom seat cushion [ 5 inch ] plus angle seat back some. I am about to modify floor pan to fit closer to turbo 350 and get some more room around the gas pedal. totally worth the effort. I am restoring a cj3a to stock as a hobby that I will never be able to drive . [ I think the girlfriend might ]
Thanks Bill and all of you for your advice and insight. Now to do some grey matter destroying.
A replacement tub costs 3500. with a v6, winch and overdrive has had
some money spent on it . If the sheet metal is not rotten that could be very good price.
Thanks Bill that’s what I was thinking.
