UPDATE: **SOLD** Was at auction.
Seth spotted this highly modified CJ-2A at Bring-a-trailer.
“This 1946 Jeep CJ2A is a modified example powered by a 454ci V8 backed by an automatic transmission. The build was completed around 2013 by a previous owner, and 14 miles have been driven since. A provided appraisal report details further modifications, include new wiring, instruments, and upholstery. Added off-road equipment includes Warn lockout hubs, Rancho shocks, and a transmission oil cooler. This custom Jeep CJ2A is being sold through a dealer with a clear Colorado title.”
Modern high-back bucket seats are upholstered with black leather, and the rear bench is clad in vinyl. Fire suppression, shoulder harnesses, and a welded-in roll cage are equipped. The suspension has been modified with a lift kit, Rancho shocks, and an adjustable airbag front suspension. A stabilized steering rack has been installed, and the front axle was upgraded with Warn locking hubs. The battery and a stainless fuel tank are mounted at the rear. Further underside pictures can be seen in the gallery. Excerpts from an appraisal report obtained by the previous owner are included in the gallery.
Big block
Automatic transmission
33″ tires
The rear drive shaft appears to be about 10 inches long.
I think I know the reason it only has 14 miles on it. If it were mine, I would sell the engine and transmission and go with a V6 and a T90 with an overdrive. If the old 3B with a v6 and a turbo 350 I had in high school couldn’t keep from spitting out drive shafts, I don’t see how any one could keep a big block with a TH 400 would.
