It’s fixed now. When creating a post I can do it “wysiwyg” style, meaning build it based on what I will see when finished OR create it using pure code (sometimes post adjustments can only be done correctly by fixing code). Apparently, I managed to paste the code into the “wysiwyg” tab rather than inside the code tab. Thanks for the note!
