“I am selling my 1962 Jeep DJ3A project. It was originally a hard top mail jeep that was long ago converted to a normal CJ3A, with patches covering the original cutouts in the tub and an M38 windshield.
The frame is the original DJ frame (verified by stamping numbers) that has been fully boxed. It has recently been sanded, rust treated and coated. It has a square tube front bumper.
The Jeep was converted to 4×4 in the 70s, run by a couple owners, and then taken apart by the previous owner in 1981. The tub and all sheet metal was stored inside gathering dust until 2016 when I purchased it after he passed away. As a result of that, the tub is almost completely rust free, save for two small spots toward the back of the wheel wells. The original running gear (save for rear axle) is gone.
The Jeep comes with an offset Dana 44 rear end and a 25 (or 30, can’t remember) drum brake front end. I have a 4 speed transmission and transfer case with Warn overdrive from the same ’68 CJ5 parts Jeep. The springs appear to be lift springs with a shackle conversion. Included are a set of slot mags and a set of 5 worn 31s or 33s (also can’t remember.)
I have many other parts to go with it. I have original through-floor pedals, correct original steering, swinging pedals from a ’78 CJ5, a Chevy steering column, a heater from a Luv, several sets of tail lights, the original single gauge, a tow hitch, a rear seat from a CJ7, a rack built to mount seats up front, a rear mount gas tank, a complete AMC 360 drive train out of a later Jeep, and many other little things. A soft top and roll bar may be available. ”
