“Selling my old US Army WWII jeep. It’s a Ford made jeep, complete with lots of F marked parts. Willys was the other manufacturer of WWII jeeps and the MB is very similar. It is not restored and appears to have never been apart other than for some repairs over the years. It needs a full restoration if you want a perfect WWII jeep. As it is I had lots of fun in parades with it back around Y2K. Sure there are extra holes, rusted spots, missing parts here and there, and the gas tank is rotted as is the floor around it. There are four original WWII tires, one of which was used by a modern tire company to remake the molds for the WWII Firestone tires. I wouldn’t recommend driving it home, as you will want to install new tires and look at the brakes before you do any driving around on public roads. It could make a great display in a store, or a wonderful project.

I’m looking for the best offer on this one.. I’ll start at $7999, and won’t take $500. I really don’t want to sell it but the county is forcing my hand. Gotta love those tax appraisers. Its time for someone to give this jeep the home it deserves. I don’t have the funds to do a proper restoration, so I did my best to preserve what was there and doll it up a bit for parades. If you want to get down to the original olive drab Army paint, a lot of it is still there under the krylon spray paint. The blue stripe is an original marking.

Jeep is currently located in Vermont inside a secure dry barn, where it has been for the last ten or so years. I have video of it driving around the yard there as of last weekend. The engine and drivetrain are all in good shape, but there are leaks you’ll want to seal up. Gages and wiring are a mess, mostly due to age. It seems most of it is still there however. I have the ignition hot wired at the moment.

Shipping will be up to the buyer, I cannot deliver this. Cash only with a 50 % deposit to hold it. Scammers need not apply.

I also have a matching WWII Trailer for this jeep up for sale. Looking for $1699 obo on that one. ”

The GPW could be worth full asking price. Basic sheet metal work, gauges, replace wiring harness, new tires (but don’t throw away the originals) and go thru the brakes… viola! This is great since it still has all the expensive bits (e.g. combat rims, fuel separator, oil bath air cleaner, etc.).

Actually back at the turn of the century (1999 or so) I went through the brakes myself, so I am pretty sure a good flushing out of the hydraulics and adjusting the master cylinder pushrod will improve the braking a bunch. If I had the time and money to do it, I would do just what you suggest myself, then enjoy it a bunch before selling at a much higher price. Some of the jeeps I’ve seen up for sale appear to be of similar quality with quick and dirty repaints….and they are asking more than twice as much.

If it doesn’t have a firm sale this week it will be going on that auction site… The trailer will be on the bay even sooner.

Thank you to everyone who is trying to help out on the sale!

Last price drop before it goes up on eBay….$6500 cash. Thanks Dave for getting the word out.

I can’t believe it didn’t sell already. Definitely worth every bit of $6500. Good luck 🙂

  7. Bill

It will most likely be sold by Monday to the highest offer over 6K…unless someone comes up with the $6500 cash before then. It’s a bargain at that price in my opinion!
Thanks again Dave! By the way I can’t find this jeep when I search under GPW…..what am I doing wrong?
I can only get to it by clicking on recent comments about it. Strange….or just user error.

As of today I have a deposit on the jeep. I’ll consider it sold when it leaves the driveway and I have cash in hand. If the sale doesn’t happen for some reason I’ll let you know. (full price sale!)

    The trailer/cooler is still available.

Jeep left the farm this past weekend on someone else’s trailer. Swiss trailer will follow it soon. Thanks for your help, Dave!
