UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $3000.
Runs.
“Up for sale is my 1961 Jeep CJ-6 4×4. The original engine runs like a champ, transmission and transfer case shift great and the 4×4 works as it should. This has been a project so it does need a little work. It has rust on the floors, rockers, tailgate, windshield frame, and fenders, all of which are easy to find replacements and cheap. Mechanically everything works as it should except the brakes, but they will work before I let it leave my house. I have a new master cylinder on order. Shoot me a text with an offer, I don’t know how to price it as it’s a pretty rare model and I’m not a Jeep guy. I don’t have a title at the moment but a bonded title is inexpensive and easy to get. For the right price, I can take care of that as well. ”
I am interested in your Jeep Willy. I would like to have a little more information. If you still have the
Willy, please let me know. My name is Reed Branson and my email address is reedbranson@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Reed
Hi Reed,
Since the Craigslist ad expired, the CJ-6 may still be for sale. If I see it relisted i will drop you an email. I’ve updated the post.

would that be a m-170 with the battery box on cowl ?
Bill,
CJ-6s had a fake battery lid for several years, just like the CJ-5s. I forget what year they were finally ditched, but I’ve heard reports they were used at least through 1963.

If I remember correctly, the cowl lid was there thru 1964 (and into early 1965). Mid to late 65 bodies did not seem to have it….and it was not there at all from 1966 on.
Thanks Jim. I know I researched it at one point, but I can’t remember if I was able to document any conclusion.
Hello, Is your jeep still available? Does it have the V6 engine. let me know.
Thanks Harry. ( I will buy ), (cash is king)
Harry,
I haven’t seen this relisted on Craigslist. If I do, I will drop you an email.
