i dont see any GPW here. whats the tip off? no picture of driver side to look for tool indents.
Hi Ken,
The tool box lids in the rear wheel wells are GPW. MB lids are flat. GPWs have rise in them. There’s a photo of GPW lid (and other info) on this link: http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=240008&hilit=Daryl

Thanks Dave, I didn’t see that. I am chasing a MB/GPW off-roader to return to original state so this is kind of up my alley but unfortunately on the wrong coast. I’ll keep looking.
Cheers,
Ken
The tool box lids are GPW, but I think a 1945 would have had the “composite” tub, no? I think the 45 tub should have the Willys style round latch recesses, to which ford would attach their ribbed box lids (and Willys the flat ones).
The one pic looks like the earlier style rectangular ford recesses (?)

It is up for “auction” at northstateauctions.com. They have a few other “Jeeps” there as well. Even though this is advertised as an auction site, the vehicles appear to just be “For Sale”.
this was parked outside surplus city in last fall when I stopped in to look around. it looks pretty nice in person. great price for a built willys.
