UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,000.
Looks nice.
“1947 jeep Willy’s overland. Original engine and also extra engine. New tires and wheels, but also have original wheels. Has P.T.O in back and winch in front. Excellent condition, fully restored. Would be an awesome vehicle to advertise for a business. Or just to enjoy and take to antique car shows.”
Even has the belt pulley.
Wow. This looks sharp. Sounds like a good deal too.
Once again, if anyone here ends up with this and would be willing to discuss the truck, I am trying to develop and VIN number data base for these early 4×4 trucks. I’ve had discussions with several “knowledgable” people who claim that no 4×4 Willys trucks were produced in 1947. I disagree. I have one. So, if anyone is willing to help me get something started, I’d appreciate your input.
I’ve learned to never say “never” or “always” when it comes to jeeps. Willys Overland and their namesakes weren’t afraid to do some unusual things.
Is there anything unusual about your VIN number?

No, not really. It’s an early one, that’s all.
what is that ahead of the steering post on the dash pannel?
Looks like a cassette deck or radio.
I love this truck…I am scrambling to sell off a boat and trailer to make an offer. Back in the 70’s I use to call on the Jeep plant in Toledo. I got to go down in the tunnels that connected the plant between stamping and assembly during the war. I was told the plant was a bomb target in WWII and if hit they would have all the inventory underground and could still assemble.
Just came across your ad. Wondering if it is still for sale. Looks good. Price seems fair. Let me know. Thanks.
Hi Lawrence, looks like this one sold. I’ve updated the post.
