UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6300.
Looks solid.
“Willys 1954 CJ3B. Runs perfect, drives great, stops like a 1954 should.
The good: Mechanically went through, top to bottom. New brakes, lines, wheel cylinders, master, brake hoses. 4 new leaf springs and hangers make it stand straight and ride like new. 4 new shocks.
New tie rod ends and a Tight steer installed in box from Walacks.
New exhaust system.New clutch, pressure and throw out bearing. New emergency brake system installed which holds good.
New alternator 1 wire with a complete wiring harness, all old stuff gone.12 volts with new cables and battery. Rebuilt Carter carb done in California by a specialist ($275.00)Oil filter kit installed.. New Aluminum radiator which cools it nicely, with new water pump.
Seats redone with drivers seat moved back a little to give the big guys room. Full gauges.
5 new military type NDT tires with new tubes (1000.00 right there)
I am sure I am leaving a lot out, but you get the picture.
The bad: Can’t think of much. It does drip a small amount of oil after a day of driving. Not enough to bother with .There is some rust under the tub, near the tool box area. Floors are very solid. Surface areas on outside tub. A good sanding a a coat of O.D. paint and it will be complete.
Now I got $5K into this, and not to mention 8 months in the garage doing the mechanicals.
I will keep this vehicle and add it to my collection if I am not offered very close to the 6300.00 asking price. So if you are interested, please e mail me with your name and phone number and I will call you back.Too many scams going on and I want to know who I am talking to.
I took it to two car shows this summer. Bennington Vt. and N Adams. Vehicle drives great (40 mph tops) Much interest from spectators and even won a showing up award 60 most popular. Thanks Vehicle is sold as is,where is. Vermont is a no title State and will be sold with bill of sale.True mileage unknown but I think it is around 44000,but only a guess.”
Drivers seat looks like it is way back , was the body cut ?
The pic suggests the wheel well has been altered.
was this sold?
Hi Nick,
Since it was deleted from Craigslist, it likely sold. I double checked craigslist to see if it was relisted, but it hasn’t been. I’ve updated the post.
