UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.
(06/28/2016) Still needs some wiring completed. The data plate might read “1945”, but I don’t see anything else that indicates it was a 1945.
“up for sale is a rare 1945 willys cj2a. there was only 1824 of these built. there is only 30 of the 1945 cj2a left according to jeep magizine . After WWII was over willys had 1824 of these left that didnt go to the war so they decided to convert them to civilian jeep which is where the (CJ) came from! they produced two colors that year harvest tan and green.
This 1945 Willys CJ2A starts right up, runs good drives good and shifts through all the gears great.
this has a fiberglass body on it.
this has the original engine which is a 134L 4 cyl. flat head runs great starts right up everytime! idles so smooth.
this has the original transmission its a 3 speed with reverse. this past winter i removed the transmission to put in a new clutch while i had it out I installed new gaskets and bearings along with the main gear set.I also took apart the transfer case and installed new gaskets and bearings too.
all drive shaft u joints have been replaced.
New master cyclinder and new brake lines, all new brakes on the willys.
4 new heavy duty tires
rims have been sand blasted and painted
steering box has been rebuilt
carb rebuilt
This runs on leaded racing gas, you can run reg gas with a lead additive
new coil new solinoid new key switch
new oil pan gasket
complete new clutch
new gas petal
new led front turn signal lights
new rear stop turn running led tail lights
new led license plate light
brand new front seats (much more comfortable than stock).
The Inside of the entire body has sprayed in truck bed liner and its really easy to clean and looks so sharp!
brand new gas tank original mounting location was under the driver seat i moved it to the rear or the jeep. i notched out the rear fender wells to push the seats back so with the seats back and the tank moved there is plenty of room now.
Brand new front windshield installed by a local company
I custom built a trunk area where the back seat would mount, which now the fuel tank is in it and there is also room for storage. I also built an arm rest with cup holders. There is space to mount a radio in the arm rest.
oil has been changed in both front and rear diffs.
engine oil, transmission and transfercase all have brand new oil installed
This Willys starts up great, runs great shifts smooth.
the only thing that needs done is the rear brake and turn signal lights wired up. The gages on the dash need wired up also all the wires are under the dash they just need connected. I just dont have the time now to finish it up. I do drive it around town and stuff. its fun and its a real head turner! this is unit 1696 out of 1824 built and 1 of 30 left
the frame is solid the body is fiberglass there are some scruffs and stuff on the body. I was going to finish the lights and bodywork but again just dont have the time for it. 4 wheel drive works fine
If I dont sell it I will finish it later. Looking to sell $16000 or possibly trade for one ton tow truck or a one ton dump truck or 4500 dump truck. please dont be a tire kicker. we can go on a test drive if your serious and have cash or trade please text dont call ******I have a clear Ohio title in my name ready to go****”
I saw this yesterday, sure did not see $16,000 worth of anything there.
This is not a 1945. The shifter is mounted to the floor and not to the tree like a ’45s would be. This is a ’46 jeep at earliest
Daniel,
Some VEC CJ-2A column shifters were converted by owners. So, while it shouldn’t have a floor shifter, it’s existence doesn’t rule out that this might have once been a 1945. This particular jeep is missing the other indicators as well like rear full floating hubs, tool indents, and square bolt bow holders on the windshield.
Thanks,
– Dave
And the frame is missing the bumper gussets and has the wrong bumper. I notices yesterday this was down to 9K, now $7,500, another couple thousand this will be down in reality land.
And isn’t that a GPW radiator? The indents don’t round the corner off the top… looks good with the paint cleaned off the brass.
