UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. Has a Meyer hardtop.
(09/22/2015) Blaine spotted this one.
“This 1965 Jeep CJ-6A Tuxedo Park Mark IV is extremely rare – only 140, or so, of these were built in 1965, with only about 460 CJ-6A “Tux’s” ever being built during the Tuxedo Park’s nine year run. This makes it one of the rarest production Jeeps out there.
The body and frame are extremely rusted and pretty much trashed…unless you are extremely talented and patient with metal work. However, the title, VIN, special parts, etc. make it a prime candidate if you are looking to restore a CJ-6 of this vintage using a donor vehicle. A restored Tuxedo Park can be worth over double a standard restored CJ-6. Why spend your money on a basic restore when you can do it as a Tuxedo Park?!
The CJ-6A is the longer wheelbase version of the more plentiful CJ-5. This Jeep features the factory 4 cylinder engine (turns by hand, was told it ran), “three on the tree” trans, and factory hardtop.
Some of the special features unique to the Tuxedo Park which this Jeep still retains are:
Special Tuxedo Park VIN and clear IA title
Mark IV hood badges
Most chrome hinges, latches, handles (will need replating)
Column Shift
Single shift transfer case
Special split front seat (Factory upholstery is tattered, but good for pattern)
Factory rear fender well pads good for a pattern
Factory leaf springs
Rear chrome bumper (needs repair)
Some of the known missing items are:
Front chrome bumper and valance
Hubcaps
Chrome rear taillights – these are available aftermarket, I believe
Rear fold down license plate light
Rear seat (assuming it had one originally).”
Lots of rust but a lot of parts and title with vin plate
Hello, if the CJ6 is still available I may come take a look at it. I can also be text at 303-501-9454.
Hi Les,
The auction ended, but it didn’t sell via auction. I suggest emailing the seller via the eBay mail system. To do this, click on the seller’s ID and then click on the “Contact” link.
